The Nespresso x Caran d'Ache 849

Coffee has become the all-time favourite beverage in almost every household, workplace and other it seems, and whilst you may or may not be advocates for such a beverage to arrive into your hands via a little aluminium capsule, one thing is for sure that you will at least know of Nespresso. A brand of equal goliath recognition in another field is Caran d'Ache and you might already be wondering what a coffeemaker and a pen manufacturer have in common. Introducing the official collaboration between the two brands, handwriting and coffee have certainly just been made that little bit more environmentally sustainable.

Presenting a new '849 ballpoint pen' in a limited edition series, such a pen is made entirely from the aluminium that has been recycled from Nespresso's coffee capsules. An exclusive writing instrument that has been born of an encounter between two iconic Swiss companies, both brands share common values: sustainable development, innovation and Swiss design quality.

With the conventional '849 ballpoint pen' arguably Caran d'Ache's most-known product used world-over, such a product line has been intrinsically refined and improved over the years by way of design, but never by materiality; until now. As Carole Hubsher, President of Caran d'Ache, explains, "...this collaboration is in keeping with our philosophy which has been founded on sustainable development, innovation and creativity for more than 100 years. Caran d'Ache is delighted to be a valued partner of Nespresso in this unique project which has given rise to this fashionable everyday design accessory."
