Tickets were indeed HOT! G

lastonbury 2016 organiser Emily Eavis released the event's Stanley Donwood-designed poster on 29th March 2016, adding "Here's just a snippet..."Other artists we're particularly looking forward to include Bastille, Jake Bugg, LCD Soundsystem, Sigur Ros and Aluna George. As it stands, the headlining acts that have been announced for their Pyramid Stage appearances include Muse on Friday, Adele on Saturday and Coldplay on Sunday (June 24th - 26th 2016).

Did you know that Glastonbury festival was first launched the very next day after music legend Jimi Hendrix died in 1970? Originally known as 'Glastonbury Fair', the festival was conceptualised when the opinion of duo Andrew Kerr and Arabella Churchill's was that other festivals at the time were too commercialised. With an almost medieval tradition of music (of course), dance (also of course), poetry, lights, theatre and spontaneous entertainment, the famous 'Pyramid Stage' has been making waves within the music industry ever since 1971. In that year tickets were free and included with such a generous token were acts from the likes of Fairport Convention, Traffic, David Bowie and Quintessence. With an estimated initial attendance of a modest 12,000, 2016 looks set to welcome 135,000 to the fields of Worthy Farm. Were you one of the lucky ones to get a ticket back in October 2015?
