So that was a snappy phenomenon and a half! In case you missed it – it really did go so quick so we won’t be surprised if not – Lacoste created a limited run of their white polo shirts which featured 10 endangered species instead of their usual (and truly iconic) crocodile logo. The quantities of shirts that were produced in each design represented the number of remaining animals of each specific species at the time. A small quirk, but maybe they need to manufacture and market some more (please…?)
Featuring all of the 10 most threatened species in the world, the collection included logos of: vaquita dolphin, Burmese roofed turtle, northern sportive lemur, Javan rhino, cao vit gibbon, kakapo parrot, Californian condor, the saola, Sumatran tiger and finally, the anegada ground iguana.
In full collaboration and support of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and their Save our Species (SOS) partnership, SATORI & SCOUT are super jealous of any of you who managed to snap (ok, the puns can stop now) one of these great designs off the store shelves. Once available for $185 – admittedly rather steep for a polo shirt – a contribution of each purchase went towards IUCN and their nature conservation work. SATORI & SCOUT cannot help but also think though, surely this run of charitable designs should continue on as its such an obvious collaboration upon a design classic and Lacoste are hardly going to lose their association with the crocodile if it were to be suddenly replaced by such animals for a period of time. Just a thought, its kind of great anyway!

Lacoste Since 1933Since 1933 has the French fashion behemoth created their fantastic lines of polo shirts, shoes, leather goods and more, and to this day, that little green crocodile has become synonymous with style and quality sports fashion. It's currently the tennis French Open, we're all going French!
